Today we were in our PJ all day, recovering from Wilderness Festival. The children were very happy at home playing by themselves, entertained by their toys after being away for 4 days.
Today I had a lovely wild swim at the lake and a lovely nap under a tree at the Wellbeing area to the soothing sounds of gong and smells of aromatherapy. The children also started to love the festival. I finally got to listen to some music that I liked (Kyan from Sofar, and another band whose name I never found out). Sadly it was time to pack up and go home!
Today things got better especially when we let the children stay up till late for the main stage at Wilderness. They loved the shiny lights and loud music and danced better than me.
Today I had a migraine and didn't sleep much at all last night (in the tent) and it was super hot, and Owen was very grumpy and so it was all quite terrible at the festival. The evening was nice when the annoying children finally went to sleep and I got to sneak out for some Art Macabre live drawing and hot chocolate with Peter.
Today we went to Wilderness Festival and set up camp! Owen was extremely grumpy, I think the whole day of television yesterday broke him.
Today we stayed home all day packing for Wilderness Festival tomorrow! Owen had to watch telly all day and finished the entire season 1 of Dino Dana!
Today I took Owen out to Witney to buy groceries. It was the first time I parked at the busy Waitrose car park. Owen was really good and patient while I shopped, I really enjoy taking him out. In the evening, I made more concertina sketchbooks and refilled my watercolour pans.
Today Harriet was fussy and annoying. We went to Witney for lunch at a cafe near the green. The children had a lot of fun just running in the field. Owen was very nice, sensitive and thoughtful to me and I was grumpy because Harriet was naughty and I was tired.
Today it rained and rained and was getting cold again. Peter had a lie in. We stayed home and didn't do much. Owen was amazingly good and helpful with Harriet.
Today we went to Riverside Festival and I really enjoyed the live music at the preschool tent (mostly by parents and friends of parents). Owen and Harriet didn't seem as impressed. In the evening I chose to do drawings instead of having a shower (so tired I couldn't do both). It's been raining and was not hot today. Peter surprised me by cleaning off the 2 year old mould from our bathroom ceiling!
Today the children didn't wake us up in the night or morning! Miracle! Sadly I had to get up for work. Bet they will wake at dawn on the weekends again.
Today I sketched during lunchtime with Georgie on her beautiful handmade paper. It was tricky painting on the unsized paper but so much fun trying to adapt to this medium. And it's so nice to find someone who's equally excited about these.
Today is work day! I gave away my first kudos card at work, and it was nice letting people know you appreciate them. Harriet has learnt to say no (previously she could only say yes), and it even sounded like 'no, thank you'.
Today I woke up early and took the children to the library and came back before Peter was even out of bed!
Today we went to Cutteslowe park where Owen had a great time playing at the playground and water play. Harriet was less impressed. It was super hot, the hottest day this year so far!
Today we took the children to Witney to feed the ducks (peas), Harriet was excited to see real ducks.
Today we stayed home and can’t remember what we did. I think I worked on my new sketching website and Harriet woke up all night giving me time to think about my website while breastfeeding her.
Today was just the mood for listening to Emmy The Great at work. It makes me want to get better at playing the guitar. I just might practice more! It also made me miss those golden days of Team Drupal, working with JP and Garrett.
Today I went to work very tired as I was stupid and went to bed late, and then Harriet woke up at 6am! At lunch, I had a satisfying chat with Georgie. So happy to find a new best friend! Then in the evening we went to Owen's preschool nursery for his Leaver's ceremony (he's starting school in September), and then as we were too tired to make dinner, we ate at a pub. The children enjoyed themselves, but were tired and full of junk food.
Today I found out that a colleague was going to be made redundant and felt really sad about it. I must have picked up the vibes subconsciously and hence the nightmare about being fired just a few days ago!
