Today we went to Chipping Norton and took Harriet to a taster session of Sing & Sign, her very first 'baby' group! She didn't seem impressed. We then went to the bookshop to get the book Owen wanted to get for Peter's birthday: The Rise and Fall of the Dinosaurs: The Untold Story of a Lost World, by Steve Brusatte. We decided to start a 'tradition' of having Owen pick a book for Peter's birthday every year, and he will have to read it regardless.
Today was Peter's birthday. We went to Banbury Hill Farm for lunch, and Owen was being uncooperative again. So I was a bit mean to him, which I later felt sorry about.
Today I lost my temper and shouted at Owen for being mean to Harriet. Shouting is probably not the best way to teach a child to be nice. Then we went to the country fair at Hailey. The children loved it but Harriet got bitten by a goat! I loved petting the snake best. Owen loved the bouncy slide best. Harriet loved the visitors' dogs best. Peter also loved the snake best.
Today I did some last minute shopping for Peter's birthday present. In the evening, I did some sketching till late.
Today I made a quickie sketch so we could have time to watch telly. Harriet was very cheeky and very cute, and Owen too. I'm so lucky to have these cute children (though they can be annoying)! It's Peter's mum's 60th birthday today!
Today Harriet woke super early again, so I was tired going to work. We had BBQ at work. Harriet was obsessed with shoes.
Today I took Harriet to the soft play while Owen was in preschool. It was so dreary, don't think I shall go there again.
Today I went to Witney for an eye test and took Owen with me. I didn't get to go to Life Drawing class, but instead drew from CroquisCafe Youtube video at home. Since it was all speed drawing, I finished early and got to watch 2 episodes of The Bridge.
Today I took Owen to Witney to the cinema to watch Ferdinand while Peter stayed home with Harriet. Harriet started saying 'shoes' and 狮子 (lion in Mandarin). It was also the end of the Sktchy Rise and Draw challenge!
Today we went to Witney and bought Harriet her first shoes.
Today I woke up late as Harriet kept me up in the night. And there was no internet connection at home due to thunderstorms in the night. Also our roof was leaking at places, and even the fireplace was damp. Oh dear.
Today Harriet was terrible in the night again though she slept through the night the last 4 nights at grandparents' house. So I went to work very tired and got honked at for my dangerous driving. Thunderstorms in the evening.
Today we drove back home from our lovely holiday at grandparent's house. Owen didn't sleep until past ten!
Today it was cold and rainy. We stayed indoors at grandparent's house all day. Harriet napped a lot and we hardly saw her! I napped for 3 hours with her. In the evening Peter and I did a bit of pair programming.
Today was bank holiday Monday, we continued to have lovely warm weather at grandparent's place. We had a picnic lunch. Owen learned to ride a tricycle.
Today we all had a lovely time in the sunny garden, Harriet and Owen playing in the paddling pool. Harriet started walking!
Today we packed and went to grandparents’ house for half term break. The children were so happy to arrive.
Today I had a satisfying day at work doing Wagtail / Django stuff.
Today I worked from home as the car had to go to the garage to get stuff fixed. In my PJ all day!
Today I went back to work and spent most of the day working on GDPR related stuff. In the evening I did some sketching and then Harriet woke up requiring attention until 2am! Exhausting!
