Today I worked from home so Peter could take Owen to nursery without waking Harriet. She napped for 3.5 hours in the morning! In the evening we watched The End of the F World.
Today the builders came to finish up the fireplace. Harriet was sent home from nursery for having a temperature.
Today we went to the natural history museum in Oxford, and then to a late hospital appointment and came home rather late. The children were both tired and hungry. Poor Owen we had been neglecting him lately, distracted by Harriet being cute, and so he's had to resort to misbehaviour to get our attention.
Today I went to work in the office while Peter babysit the children for half-term. They seemed very happy with him. Harriet had been up 3 times in the night, breastfeeding. She didn't seem to understand mummy needs to work the next day.
Today Harriet threw up in the night after feeding and then cried and cried for hours again. How can such a cute baby turn into such a terrible gremlin in the night? The architect came today finally to discuss plans about the extension.
Today grandparents came to visit and the children were elated. Owen had a really good time and went to bed after 10pm!
Today Harriet cried for hours in the night again so we were all exhausted in the day and Owen was so tired he fell sick and went back to sleep in the afternoon so we couldn’t go out.
Today Harriet cried and cried for hours in the night, so I went to work feeling exhausted. I blame it on the nursery skipping her afternoon nap.
Today I formally went back to work. Harriet was quite good in the night, and even enjoyed her nursery today.
Today Peter went to help out at the preschool, and Harriet was at the nursery for settling in, so I had the morning and most of the afternoon all to myself. Harriet was finally happy at the nursery and even came home learning to say 'daddy'.
Today Peter took Owen to Maddie's house to play, and Owen had a great time. In the evening after putting the children to bed, Peter and I continued fighting, but eventually resolved it after shedding some tears. Afterwards I did some sketching till late. Harriet was terrible in the night again.
Today I went to bed at 4:30am from being too angry and a combination of Owen waking in the night, waking Harriet up, and Peter losing his temper and shouting at me, and Harriet continuing to cry for 2 hours even after breastfeeding. Someday I’ll look back at this with nostalgia.
Today I decided to go on the ski trip with my company in March. Owen was very good, keen to help out with clearing the moss on our patio and other gardening chores. It was nice to be out in the sunny garden even when it was cold. Harriet was very happy and talking a lot. I baked another Pandan chiffon cake for Owen.
Today we went to the garden centre to get bird food. Poor Harriet has got another cold again and didn't sleep well. Owen amazed me by being able to do Word Search on his activity book. I spent the evening painting with watercolour.
Today I went to work and conducted a training session for some clients. It was exhausting! And the children woke up 4 times in the night between them. Disappointingly we still didn't have the fireplace as the appliance hadn't arrived in time.
Today we took Harriet to nursery for settling in again. The builders came to build the chimney breast for our new fireplace and we hid in our room, and then escaped to the library.
Today we took Harriet to the nursery for her first settling in session. We only left her for 40mins. She wasn't too upset, and even waved us goodbye.
Today Harriet has fully recovered from flu and had become extremely playful as if to make up for lost time. In the evening we cleared out stuff from our living room to make way for the builders. I met Peter today 10 years ago!
Today I went to meet the children and Peter when the toddler group finished. Later, I helped Owen write a letter to his best friend who lives next door. In the evening I ruined yet another sketch with my bad watercolouring, but I learnt a new trick.
Today we took both children to the Charlbury Kids Runaround. Nice to meet other parents there. Both Owen and Harriet were very happy. After dinner Owen made Harriet laugh hysterically by feeding her bananas. In the evening I allowed myself to cheat and sketch from a photograph (instead of from real life).
