Today we finally harnessed the power of electric drill! Wow, all the things we could do.
Today was Chinese New Year. I woke up then went back to bed, eventually got out of bed at 11am! Wouldn't have been allowed to do that on the first day of CNY in my household back then. But now that I am the matriarch, I make my own rules. The children were elated to receive money in their red packets. We went to Witney and had sushi for dinner.
Today I cooked Chinese noodles for dinner. The kids loved it and made a mess.
Today I finally got to take the kids to the library and park. Owen and Harriet played with Eddie and Maddie at the kids runaround.
Today the website launch went well. Woo! It was just a soft launch, but I felt the adrenaline. Nice to be part of a project and not just hot fixing here and there. And I love my team.
Today I worked late to prepare a website for launch tomorrow.
Today was such a beautiful sunny day. After we picked up Owen from school, Harriet, Owen & I walked the scenic route home (about 1hr) and we all had such a lovely time. The 2 kids are so good together. I was also amazed at how much Harriet could walk these days.
Today Peter took the children to the park to get them out of my hair. As an exchange, I baked them a lovely lemon drizzle cake. Owen said he liked lemon drizzle cake even more than chocolate cake.
Today we tried out the new cafe and M&S food hall at Chipping Norton. Afterwards we went to our favourite book shop, Jaffe & Neale. Really glad and proud that Owen is a bookworm like us.
Today I got to sketch a bit in the car before picking up kids. And then again in the evening. Win!
Today I still didn't manage to do any drawing, actually blocked by having too many ideas. In the evening we continue watching BBC's Dracula. It is fabulous, I love the adaptation.
Today I took Harriet to Oxford on the train for my hospital checkup. Thankfully I managed to arrange a play date for Owen so I didn't have to rush back. Harriet did a lot of good walking and everyone was charmed by her.
Today Owen's friend Maddie, came over for play date. We made a lemon drizzle cake. In the evening we started watching Dracula.
Today I woke up late with a headache and my throat hurting again. We went to Witney to get supplies and didn't do much else. In the evening I searched for book shelves online instead of drawing.
Today I worked from home. I picked Owen up after school and he entertained himself while I continued working. I still didn't do any drawing at all in the evening. Seem to find it quite hard to get back into the creative routine again!
Today miraculously the pain was almost gone! Just feeling rather numbed in my throat. Maybe the nerves had rotted away. I went to the preschool to send in Harriet's application. Quite excited. She's going to love it.
Today I was better but still sore, so I worked from home. Can't seem to get my brain to work properly. Also from lack of sleep caused by pain.
Today I was sorely ill with the most excruciating sore throat I'd ever had and couldn't get out of bed.
Today I was in agony over a terrible sore throat and needed constant painkillers. Didn’t get to do anything I wanted with the kids. We just stayed home all day again.
Today I wrote a longish blog post on my art blog. Other than that we didn’t do much. I was coming down with a cold. The James Gurney wrote to me! But that’s only because of some problem with something I bought from his shop. Still, I am honored. He was super nice.
